Building an Active Lifestyle in our
Finger Lakes Community

Nature has a profound impact on overall health and wellness. Getting outside and immersing yourself in nature is a great way to help you feel more grounded, improve mood, reduce stress and anxiety and align your mind, body and soul.

The Finger Lakes area of Upstate New York is the ultimate playground with boundless opportunities for connecting with nature.  Whether you love hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, or are looking for some relaxation and rejuvenation, you can take advantage of a variety of natural wonders in the Finger Lakes Region.

To help you lead a healthier, more fulfilling life, I encourage everyone to incorporate spending time in nature as a part of their wellness journey.

Looking for a fun way to improve your health and wellbeing? Experience the calming effect of water and enjoy the beauty of nature while reaping the physical benefits of movement. Kayaking is a great way to immerse yourself in nature, enjoy some movement, calm your mind and find inner peace.  Explore the water and take in the beauty of the natural world while experiencing the physical and mental benefits that come with kayaking.

Hiking Letchworth Winter

From the grandiosity of Letchworth State Park to the simpleness of Ontario Pathways, there are plenty of opportunities to take a walk or hike. Try the Erie Canal Pathway, Cumming Nature Center, Mendon Ponds, the Keuka Outlet Trail, the Texas Hollow State Forest or the Finger Lakes National Forest.

And if you have an interest in waterfalls, NYFalls can help plan your next adventure.

Mountain, Gravel or Road Biking trails and routes abound in the Finger Lakes. Biking can be enjoyed solo, with friends or the whole family. Try the Black Diamond Trail between Trumansburg and Ithaca for a scenic, flat trail where you don't have to deal with traffic. Ontario Pathways and the Erie Canal path are also great for family adventures on bikes.

Hikyoga is a great way to connect with your tribe, to connect with nature and to nurture your mind, body and soul. If you enjoy hiking and have an interest in yoga (whether you have never tried yoga or are an experienced yogi) this is for you! Hikes are usually between 1-2 miles with stops throughout for yoga, meditation, connection and reflection.
